❓ What is PrithviGIS?

PrithviGIS is a custom GIS software built on QGIS, designed to support real-time spatial data visualization, large-scale target display, advanced raster processing, and mission planning. It’s suitable for both defense and civil applications.

❓ Is PrithviGIS based on open-source software?

Yes. It is built on top of the QGIS API (an open-source GIS platform), and integrates PostgreSQL/PostGIS, CesiumJS, and other standard technologies. We follow QGIS brand guidelines and maintain full compatibility.

❓ Can PrithviGIS work offline?

✅ Yes. It is designed for secure, completely offline deployments. All functionality including real-time display, raster tools, and mission planning works without internet connectivity.

❓ What kind of data formats does PrithviGIS support?

It supports all major GIS formats handled by QGIS:

Vector: Shapefile, GeoJSON, GPKG, PostGIS
Raster: GeoTIFF, JPEG2000, PNG, etc.
Real-time: PostgreSQL/PostGIS tables, TCP/UDP, WebSocket feeds

❓ How many tracks can PrithviGIS display in real-time?

It has been tested with 10,000+ tracks simultaneously (airborne/naval/ground) using PostgreSQL as the backend. Updates are synced instantly — no polling required.

❓ Does it support 3D maps?

Yes. PrithviGIS supports 3D target visualization via CesiumJS 3D View. You can enable terrain, measure height, and track movement in 3D space.

❓ Can we customize the symbology or colors?

Absolutely. Each layer has configurable symbology — including icons, shapes, colors, size, rotation by heading, and more. You can define rules based on attributes (e.g., speed, status, ID).

❓ Can PrithviGIS be used for civil applications?

QGIS is a general-purpose GIS application. PrithviGIS is a domain-specific, real-time extension built on top of QGIS — with features like:

Real-time target handling
Track symbology per domain
PostgreSQL auto-refresh
Mission planning and 3D layers
Simulated input support (UDP, TCP)

PrithviGIS is a proprietary solution developed by Manya Technologies. However, portions of it built on QGIS are compliant with open-source licenses.
